About Me
After working in the corporate world earlier in my career, I followed my desire to work with people in a deeper, more emotionally meaningful way. For the past sixteen years, I have had the fortune to assist individuals, couples and families with their unique and personal journeys towards obtaining greater satisfaction, clarity and connection in their emotional lives and relationships.
People come to therapy for a variety of reasons, and it is my belief that the safety and framework of the therapeutic relationship provides the vehicle through which transformation and deep change may occur.
I received my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Queens College in 1988 and a Master of Social Work from Fordham University in 2005. My post-graduate training is in parent/child therapy, infant mental health, child and adolescent therapy, play and expressive arts therapies, couples therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, transference focused psychotherapy and psychoanalysis.
I am an NASW (National Association of Social Workers) certified clinical supervisor; a certified school social worker; and a certified yoga instructor with specialized training in therapeutic and restorative yoga as well as body-based therapies.
In addition to my private practice, my experience includes working in public schools, mental health centers, hospitals, hospice and group practice, and I specialize in working with adults, adolescents, children, couples and families.
